Kim Kiss Morris owner of the established Bay Head institution of fashion, The Bee, now sports a second, location at Pier Village in Long Branch and a third, location at Brook 35 in Sea Girt, Mrs. Morris has cooked up the perfect combination of fashion, friendly ambiance, trendy tidbits and above all, the main ingredients taste.

The daughter of an advertising executive and a Bay Head store owner, she has taken both retailing and creativity to the next level. After earning a degree at Tobe Coburn, she went on Saks Fifth Avenue, where she was assistant to Connie Buck, head of studio services. In her position, Kim was responsible assisting in wardrobing major motion pictures, commercials, soap operas and print ads.

She then moved on to Bergdorf Goodman, as assistant to Betty Halbriech, where she spent five more years dressing for studios and agencies, as well as assuming responsibility for outfitting Bergdorf’s posh clientele, as a personal shopper for New York City’s socialites. When she moved to the mens department, she took over the operations for two years. She has worked with and been tutored by some of the best designers including Ann Roth and Albert Wolsky.

After moving to Bay Head, marrying and starting a family, Kim opened The Bee in 1997. Three years later the growth of the business made finding a larger location a necessity, so the move was made to The Bees next location, a lovely space overlooking the lake and a final move to the historic building on Route 35.

Her second store in Pier Village was a vision, opening in March 2006. The combination of bare bones, hi tech, and simple elegance, works perfectly within the venue, while still retaining all the charm and personality of the flagship store. Due to the success of the two stores, Kim opened her third location in the Brook 35 Plaza, in November of 2006.

Kim now juggles a thriving business with home and family, as well as spearheading many charitable operations and community services. Her plate may be crowded, but she serves it up with style.
