Gaby Basora created the original Tucker blouse in 2005 and has since generated a growing collection with infinite possibilities. An indefinable, inherently spontaneous and slightly irreverent force drives Tucker. And like New York, the label's physical and spiritual home, it is characterised by an exciting array of contradictions; the silks are luxurious but not precious; the pieces are agile yet bold; the look is never contrived but always carefully considered. The cadre of adoring fans is as eclectic as the brand itself.

With a background in styling, Gaby's experience brings a great eye for detail as well as a commitment to impeccable fit and quality. Every piece tells a story, as testified by the playful and distinctive names given to each print: 'My Own Lovestory' or 'Underwater Spring Storm'; and gestures to a memory, a scent, a pattern or place.

Tucker has expanded dramatically but the original values remain the same. Tucker is proudly made in New York City in the same factory that sewed the first order. Known for its vibrant floral, animal and abstract prints, Tucker's unique aesthetic and philosophy is one of optimism and inspiration.

In 2006, Barney's was the first to snap up the collection of signature blouses. Collaborations with Target and international interest followed. Tucker can now be found in over 300 retailers worldwide. Tucker opened its first retail shop in the fall of 2011, on West Broadway in Soho NYC.

In 2011, Gaby Basora was elected to the CFDA, confirming Tucker's status as a fashion brand to be reckoned with.
